Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Jar of Love birthday bouquet
Today I’m playing along with this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch #229 challenge. I’m on a bit of a block design roll at the moment, so when I saw the background in this weeks design I had to have a play 🙂
I really love the sweet card that was the result and just had to add a birthday sentiment to it, as it’s a special birthday for my sister Sara today. I hope she has a wonderful day and is thoroughly spoilt. xxx
I debated between several sets to create the background block pattern before finally settling on the Jar of Love stamp set. I used the burlap wrap stamp for my block pattern in Pool Party and love the textured look it adds to this simple design 🙂
This is the first bouquet I’ve made using this stamp set and while they’re not difficult they are a little time-consuming. I’m so glad that all of the elements in my bouquet could be die cut with the coordinating Everyday Jars Framelits – I don’t think a fussy cut bouquet would have ever happened 😉
I used Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay and Pear Pizzazz for the different elements and really like this colour combination, it’s fresh and bright and contrasts nicely with the Pool Party background.
The sentiment is from Tabs for Everything which is packed full of little mix and match sentiments and images. I tend to use this set exclusively for my Love Today Planner but want to get more out of it and love how it looks here 🙂
I used the same layers inside and a selection of sentiments from Thoughtful Banners this time to create a personalised greeting. I arranged the top four stamps in the order I wanted, picked them up on one block and stamped them all at once in Bermuda Bay ink. The word “day” isn’t an individual word so I had to stamp that separately by inking up only part of a larger sentiment, thank goodness for photopolymer stamps 😉
I added a final flourish with the fireworks from In the City, a host only set. I like how they dress up the rather simple sentiment a little and also do double duty by covering up a little ink smudge – oops!
I hope you liked my take on this weeks challenge and especially wish my sister a very, very Happy Birthday ♥♥♥
