Look up to see the silver lining…

Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Look up to see the silver lining..

Today I have a whimsical little card to share with you that seems deceptively simple at first glance but has lots of subtle details upon closer inspection. For me this was one of those projects that was all about the “little things”, I just had fun mixing and matching stamp sets and playing with different ideas until this was the end result 🙂

I really wanted to try the two-step stamping that’s part of the Colorful Seasons stamp set, so started with the branches in Soft Suede and flowers in Flirty Flamingo and built the rest of the card from there.

Tips: If you look closely at these stamps in the packaging you’ll see that they’re numbered and have little tabs to help line up the different steps.  I need a bit more practice but it’s not to bad for a first try 😉

The birdcage is from Badges & Banners and I embossed this with Silver Embossing Powder before punching it out with the coordinating Best Badge Punch. I popped this up with dimensionals and added a bow of Silver Metallic Thread at the top.

The clouds are from Lift Me Up and were also heat embossed in silver, two were die cut with the matching Up & Away Thinlits to add some extra dimension at the top of my card.

The sentiment from Sprinkles of Life ties in nicely with the silver lined clouds and was stamped in Flirty Flamingo ink on a Whisper White banner and mounted onto a Silver Foil one with a tiny border for just a hint of the silver.

The final embellishment on this card are the smallest pearls which were added to the centres of all the flowers, a good way to use up some of the extras I seem to have 🙂

Inside is a layered the same as the front, Whisper White on Smoky Slate with a few more clouds stamped across the bottom in Smoky Slate ink.

This is definitely an encouragement card and I love the simplicity of it and soft colours, I hope whoever I send it to will like it too and that it will bring a smile to their face 🙂 We all need that from time to time.
