Stampin’ Up! have really outdone themselves this year with their host sets, there are six in total and they are all awesome! Host sets are special stamp sets that can only be purchased with Stampin’ Rewards and in Australia, rewards start when your order reaches $250 before postage and tax. You can use your reward dollars to purchase these stamp sets – or anything else in the catalogue you’d like – but it’s the only way to get these special ones.

Today I have a project using my absolute favourite one, Dare to Dream – please note that my favourites are subject to change, I find whatever I’m using right now is usually my favourite… it makes it very hard to pick and choose … sooo, I’ll just have to get them all, right? 😉

As soon as I saw this set in the *new* Annual Catalogue I knew it would complement the Up & Away Thinlits and the coordinating Lift Me Up stamp set perfectly. These popular products were carried over from the Occasions Catalogue and I’m so glad they did because those hot air balloons are just gorgeous 🙂

Dare to Dream has three large sentiments – adventure, sweet & dream – in this beautiful cursive font and lots of smaller print words that mix and match so you can create your own personalised messages.

I stamped my sentiment in Tranquil Tide and Night of Navy inks onto Whisper White cardstock and really like these two colours together, I can see this becoming a go-to combination 🙂

The hot air balloons were stamped around the sentiment in Crushed Curry, Fresh Fig and Tangerine Tango and then die cut using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

I stamped the balloons again and cut them out with the coordinating Up & Away Thinlits and lined them up behind my sentiment panel and glued them in place to create the illusion of the balloons floating through the words. The sentiment and balloons were then adhered to a piece of Color Theory DSP which made the perfect sky background.

The clouds – which were die cut using the same thinlit set – were popped up with dimensionals to add some texture. I love the shadows they cast when the light hits them, it makes them look much more realistic 🙂

Inside is very simply finished with a layer of Whisper White and a few more balloons stamped across the bottom. I don’t usually add sentiments inside my cards as I like to be able to personalise them for the occasion I’m giving them for.

I’d really like to give this one to my parcel delivery man if I have the chance, he’s retiring soon and I know he and his wife have a lot of overseas trips planned – what a great stage of their lives to be entering, unfortunately I still have a while to go yet 😦

The host sets start on page 220 of the Annual Catalogue, just after some more detailed information about Stampin’ Rewards. Make sure to have a close look at them, they’re well worth considering if you place an order this size.

I really think they’re all lovely sets and would be happy to set up a Host Club if enough people were interested. A Host Club is group where the members commit to spending  ? amount each month for a ? amount of time and then take turns to receive the Stampin’ Rewards during that period. For example: this group could consist of 5 members who commit to spending $50 per month for 5 months and would receive the Stampin’ Rewards once during that period.
