Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | One Wild Ride
I have a lot of men in my life, a husband, three sons, brothers and more and I have a real need for masculine cards, so the question I’ve been asking myself is why have I taken so long to get this awesome stamp set???
One Wild Ride has loads of great masculine imagery, a motorbike, tread marks, gravel and it’s all a bit distressed and grungy, perfect for the men in my life anyway and when I saw this weeks sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch! #223, I knew this was the stamp set I wanted to use 🙂
This was such a quick and easy card to make and came together just as I’d pictured it – I love it when that happens 🙂 I only used two inks, Momento Black and Crumb Cake and two cardstock colours, Basic Black and Crumb Cake, plus a scrap of Wood Textures DSP, so not many supplies needed for this one.
I stamped the gravel pattern diagonally as a background and added a couple of overlapping tread marks stamped twice without reinking. I’d already stamped the tread marks on the oval first and just eyeballed where they would line up on the card front. They don’t line up perfectly but they’re pretty close, I think I got lucky, that doesn’t usually happen when I eyeball it 😉
Inside has the same layers as the front and a little stamping in just one corner. I tend to leave my cards blank inside, I think it makes them more versatile and I can always add a stamped sentiment later if I want too.

I hope you liked todays project, it got a thumbs up from the men in my life, the comments were, “There’s black, a motorbike and Route 66, it’s good!”, thanks boys, high praise indeed 😉
