Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Affectionately Yours Stamp-a-Stack
I have a big problem using the specialty sheets in some of our Designer Series Paper packs. They’re just too beautiful to use on “everyday” projects and there’s only one of them in the pack, so I find myself waiting for the perfect project to use them on. Unfortunately, now all the paper is retiring and I’ll soon have new beautiful paper so it’s time to chop it up, use it and sent it out into the world like I should have done in the first place! 😉
Even though I want to use it, I don’t want to waste it and I think this month’s stamp-a-stack was the perfect solution.
I used a gorgeous foiled piece from the Affectionately Yours Specialty DSP (retiring) and the coordinating Love and Affection (retiring) stamp set. To get the most out of this lovely sheet, I cut the strips 2″ x 14.9cm which meant I could make 12 cards with that one sheet with hardly any waste 🙂
I backed each strip with a piece of coordinating cardstock 2-3/8″ x 14.9cm and adhered that towards one side of a Thick Whisper White base.
I set myself an extra challenge to not use my Big Shot – that was sooo hard, I use it nearly every day – but I think my cards turned out quite nicely, despite the lack of die cutting 😉 I added a 2″ Circle Punch in the same cardstock as the layering strip and stamped images around this in the coordinating inks.
The sentiments were punched with the new, coming soon, Pretty Label Punch (available June 1). I’m so glad I pre-ordered this, it’s a lovely shape and really lends itself to layering. I popped the sentiments up with dimensionals and added a few Enamel Shapes to some of them.
Now I have a big pile of happy mail ready to go out and brighten someone’s day 🙂
