Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson | Guy Greetings, #GDP076

I’m playing along with the Global Design Project #GDP076 | Case the Designer, this week and it’s a great design we get to play with, I really like the layout of this one.

I pulled out another, sadly neglected, stamp set for this challenge, Guy Greetings and inked up, for the very first time, that great anchor image for my entry.

I only used three colours, Copper, Night of Navy and Whisper White for my card. I really like the crisp contrast between the navy and white and the few touches of copper added a little warmth and shine.

I love the skinny contrasting border of the original but didn’t want to cut a big piece of Copper Foil which would only end up being hidden, so I just cut two strips 1cm wide x the length I wanted and attached those to either side of my Whisper White layer, which gave me the look I wanted without the waste 🙂

The sentiment is from the same set and I added a fussy cut copper embossed anchor and a few Enamel Shapes to dress it up.

Some knotted Thick White Baker’s Twine finished it off and goes with the nautical feel of the card – I have no idea what this knot is, I found it when I was searching online and copied it from the illustration.

I added a Whisper White layer inside for writing and used post-it notes to mask off and stamp the anchors down one side.

The baker’s twine is tied on the inside with a reef knot and I added a glue dot behind it to keep it in place. Normally I wouldn’t like this look in a card but I think it ties in perfectly with the theme of this card so was happy to leave it this time.

I hope you like my super simple card, I know it will be a great addition to my guy card stash and I can see lots of variations of it in the future. Thank you Kylie for a great design 🙂
