I’m playing along with the Global Design Project this week for a sketch challenge and decided to use my long neglected Foxy Friends for my entry.

I wanted to create a sunrise background behind the fox to go with this lovely sunray design from the Cupcakes and Carousels DSP  – this is one of my favourite sheets in this pack 🙂 and had my first attempt at water colouring on watercolour paper. I used the Watercolour Pencils with an aqua painter and while I’m pretty happy with the results I think I need more practice, but you’ve got to start somewhere.

I really wanted to keep the heart element of the sketch so added a little cluster of hearts at the base of the stump using the Owl Builder Punch. I really hope this punch stays with us for a long time, I use the little elements from this punch all the time.

I used the Hello You Thinlits with the coordinating Crazy About You stamp set for the sentiment, which seemed perfect for such a bright and cheerful card.

Inside is very simply finished with a strip of the same DSP on one side  – this seems to be a theme at the moment – and a few more hearts scattered across the bottom.

I hope you like my bright and cheerful card, I think it looks quite sweet and am looking forward to popping it in the post for someone who might need a little pick-me-up 🙂
