Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Karen Robinson – Valentine Treat Bag
Valentine’s Day in Australia is a bit more low-key than it seems to be in other places. We usually just give something to our significant other and maybe a little gift to our kids and that tends to be it. I do like to give my boys a little treat on Valentine’s Day, usually a few chocolate hearts, nicely packaged and that’s what I was thinking of when I made today’s project.
It’s a very simple bag made from Whisper White cardstock that will hold just a few treats but for me the fun part was decorating the front and I think I might have gone a bit overboard 😉
For the embellishment on the front of the bag I die cut a Dazzling Diamonds scalloped circle using the Layering Circles Framelits, a Real Red circle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits – great news, these should be available to order again from January 16 🙂 and then cut a heart from this layer using the Love Notes Framelits.
Tip: I used quite a few different framelit sets on this project, but a lot of them could be substituted with punches if you have those instead.
A smaller Whisper White circle was stamped with the lips from the Sealed With Love stamp set and surrounded with the kiss sentiment stamped off once in Real Red, a little shimmer was added to the lips with Clear Wink of Stella and a few Rhinstones for some extra sparkle.
The little envelope and insert were made using the Love Note Framelits and matching stamp set and a tiny heart from the Metallic Enamel Shapes finished it off. The bag is kept closed and holds the note with a Mini Paper Clip and bow made from the coordinating ribbon.
A quick and easy tutorial:
Finished Bag Size: 3 x 4 x 1″ (7.5 x 10 x 2.5cm)
Cardstock: 8-1/2 x 5″
Score @ 1, 4, 5, 8″ on the long side
Score @ 1″ on the short side
DSP: 2-7/8 x 3-7/8″
Fold and burnish the score lines.
Remove the smallest rectangle on the base of the bag
Cut up to the 1″ score line on the base of the bag, notch the smallest tabs if desired
Attach the DSP to the front of the bag
Assemble as usual and decorate as desired
I know this is a very Valentine-y project but I promise I have ideas to share with you to use this bundle for much more than just Valentine’s Day.
See you soon 🙂
Cheers,
Karen
