12 Days of Christmas 2016 | Day 1

Stampin’ Up Demonstrator Karen Robinson – 12 Days of Christmas 2016 | Day 1

Sorry it’s been quiet here for so long, I’ve been really busy the past few weeks – in a good way though. I can’t believe December starts this week! Christmas is so close and I’m not ready at all, so this series will be mainly quick and easy projects that can come together in flash for all those last-minute gifties we all seem to need.

Little Paper Party, Warmth and Cheer DSP, Pretty Pines Thinlits, Clear Tiny Treat Box.jpg

Todays project uses the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes, Pretty Pines Thinlits and the Warmth and Cheer DSP.

I drew a 2 x 2″ square on my grid paper and used this to assemble all my pieces, it’s much easier than trying to arrange them on top of the box 🙂 When I was happy with how they looked I glued them to a 3/4″ circle and attached that to the top of the box with glue dots. I used more glue dots, where they wouldn’t be seen, to hold down the extending leaves so they wouldn’t catch as easily. A couple of dabs of Tombow on some of the finer parts and it’s not coming off any time soon.

That might not sound very quick, but once I’d figured out the first layout and where I needed to add extra adhesive the rest were assembled in no time.

The liner was made using the same technique as this post. I cut a 4-1/2 x 4-1/2″ square (cut it just a smidge less for an easier fit) of Warmth and Cheer DSP, scored it at 1-1/4″ on all four sides, removed the corners and it fits perfectly in the bottom of the box.

I then added some of the coordinating washi tape around the top (add your contents first to keep the DSP on the bottom) and all done!

To finish it off, I added a knot of Delightful Dijon Mini Striped Ribbon with a couple of the Mini Jingle Bells stitched on with Copper Metallic Thread (you could simply glue them on, I just liked how they dangle when you sew them). The ribbon was attached with even more glue dots, they really got a workout in this project 😉

I hope you liked todays project, you could whip up a batch of these really quickly and you have some sweet little somethings ready to go. I made these boxes for part of our end of year teacher gifts and managed to fit in five scented tea lights in each one, they’ll hold loads of things other than sweets.

See you tomorrow for Day 2!

Cheers,
Karen
