12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 8

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – 12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 8

We’re on the home stretch now and I think I’ll have to share two ideas next week to play catch up for my late start 🙂 The projects from now on will be quick and easy with minimal supplies and time required (there may be one exception…), I know how quickly time flies the closer you get to an event.

Today I have a little pouch made using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.

Little Paper Party, Halloween Night DSP, Spooky Fun, Mini Treat Bag.jpg

These are super fast to make and only require a 6 x 6″ piece of DSP for each pouch, this means you can get four from one sheet of DSP which is great for making in bulk. I used the Halloween Night DSP for the pouch and Whisper White, Smoky Slate and Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper for the tags.

All the stamping is from the Spooky Fun stamp set, the sentiments were all stamped in Basic Black and cut up to fit inside the circles, I did sponge around the edges to help the words stand out better, but this is optional. I used the images to create a background for each sentiment and punched them out with the 1-3/4″ Circle Punch and added that to the glimmer piece with dimensionals. A little bit of doubled baker’s twine is the only embellishment and was just tied with a simple knot.

To make the pouch cut two pieces using just the small bag framelit from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits, I like the folded front so I scored 1-1/2″ from the top on one piece, trimmed the tabs as needed on both the front and back and then assembled as usual. I did use a paper crimper on the bottom (non Stampin’ Up!) but you can also achieve this look with your scoreboard.

There’s plenty that you can fit inside, with a bit of searching, but I found that these pouches are the perfect size for Furry Friends. I don’t know if they’re available anywhere else, as they have Australian animals on them, but they’re easy to find in the supermarkets here. One of the things that’s great about this find is not only do they fit perfectly they’re just snug enough to stay put 🙂

I hope you liked todays’ quick and easy treat idea and that you’ll come back on Festive Friday to see a Christmas version.

Cheers,
Karen
