12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 6

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – 12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 6

Sorry I’m a bit late this week, we’re on school holidays here and I’m out of my usual routine.

I was wanting to create a more grown up style treat box this week and these little boxes are what I came up with.

I’m not quite sure if I nailed it but I do like what I’ve got so far. I used the Curvy Keepsake Box and combined stamping with heat embossing and glitter (a first for me). Tip: Fold and burnish your score lines before stamping, I found when I did it afterwards it affected the glittered image.

How To: Use your Embossing Buddy on your cardstock, stamp your image with VersaMark, add Heat and Stick Powder, heat until it melts and then add glitter and heat again with your Heat Tool. Note: This is really quick how-to and I would recommend watching a few videos and having a practice on some scrap card before trying it on your project.

The spider web box was stamped using the web from Spooky Fun and the pumpkin has the flourish from Timeless Textures. I added Silver Foil leaves from the Rose Garden Thinlits to add to the pumpkin idea, I chose these ones because their open design still allowed the glitter tendrils to be seen.

I left the boxes plain as I wanted the glittered images to be the star and anything I added only detracted from that, these are super sparkly in person, I wish I could have caught it on camera!

Even though these are small (approx. 2 x 2 x 2″ or 5 x 5 x 5cm – not including the handle) you can fit quite a lot in them, especially small goodies 🙂 I put my loose treats in a patty pan case as it stops any oils from marking the box and keeps any stray glitter off your treats – trust me, there will be stray glitter! 😉

Free Kits:
If you’d like a free kit to make one of  my 12 Weeks of Halloween projects just place a minimum $25.00 order (before shipping) in my online store using the September Hostess Code: 94TCGNKT. For each $25.00 spent you’ll receive one kit (eg: $25 = 1 kit – Week 1, $50 = 2 kits –  Weeks 1 & 2, $75 = 3 kits  – Weeks 1, 2 & 4 etc…). Eligible customers will receive their kit(s) in early October.
(Only available to Australian residents)

To receive a free kit(s) please remember to:
* Make sure you see my name as the demonstrator in the top right corner
* Enter the Hostess Code for the current month
* Tick YES to allow my demonstrator to contact me (or I won’t know who you are)
* If you spend $250+ do not use the Hostess Code (you will receive your own rewards), you will still receive 10 different free kits  (from the 12 Weeks of Halloween) as well as a bonus thank you gift from me.

I do hope you like this weeks’ project and that you’ll give this technique a try if you haven’t done it before, it’s messy but so worth it 🙂

Cheers,
Karen
