Today I have a remake of this sweet little treat bag and have stepped it up a bit (hopefully for the better) by adding a shaker element to the front (my first ever time using this technique – quite a few fails before I got what I was aiming for 🙂

I used the Jar of Love stamp set and matching Everyday Jars framelits for the jar, Halloween Night DSP for the bag and the rest of the stamping is from Spooky Fun. (Tip: This would be a perfect project to use the Jar of Haunts stamp set as it coordinates with the jar framelits).

I didn’t own any glitter or sequins that were quite right as a filler so had to come up with some other options that were the right size but also had a Halloween-y feel.  I used the Tree Builder Punch to punch out the pumpkins in Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper, the stars are from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits in Silver Foil and the bats are from the Home Sweet Home Thinlits in Basic Black cardstock. I think this is one project where you can be creative in your filler options and just use what you have, just the stars in three Halloween colours would look great as well.

Inside the jar is stamped the spider web and “Trick or Treat” sentiment from Spooky Fun. The bats on the handle are from the same set and I added the spider to the jar on the back for some extra interest.

The handles were cut four times for each bag in Basic Grey and adhered together for extra strength. I covered them in Clear Wink of Stella which I think  gave them an old, grungy wire kind of look that I really like.

These bags measure only 1-1/2″W x 2-5/8″H x 1″D (4 x 6.5 x 2.5cm) and it can be difficult to know what to put in them, so I thought I’d share a couple of ideas. The bag on the left contains loose lollies (I put mine into one of our 2 x 8″ Cellophane Bags and trimmed the excess, I just don’t like handing out unwrapped lollies), it contains jelly beans, candy corn, Reese’s pieces and a mini peanut butter cup. The bag on the right contains wrapped goodies and what’s pictured filled the entire bag (I found the mini Tic Tac’s at The Reject Shop, there are 62 packets in a box for $9.00AUD, I thought that was a great find). Of course you don’t have to use lollies, there are stacks of non-edibles you could add like stickers, small party favours and little glow sticks are just a few that spring to mind.
