12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 2

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – 12 Weeks of Halloween 2016 – Week 2

This weeks’ project is a sweet (or should that be spooky?) mini banner. Each flag is only 2 x 3″ (5 x 7.5cm) and the total width is 10-1/4″ (26.5cm), so it’s just the right size to add a little seasonal decoration to a small space.

(Tip: To make a 2 x 3″ banner I cut my cardstock to 2 x 3-3/16″ before using the Triple Banner Punch)

All the elements (except the numbers) are from the Spooky Fun and Halloween Scenes Edgelits (save 10% if purchased as a bundle). The numbers were die cut using the Large Numbers Framelits and the spider web foil sheet from the Halloween Night Specialty DSP.

The first two flags feature the tree and fence edgelits. The edgelits only cut the top part of the design which means you can make them any length you’d like. I cut them so they were longer than the flag base, adhered and then trimmed them to follow the points at the bottom.

The last two flags feature the little ghosts and pumpkins. The ghosts do not have a matching framelit so I fussy cut them and then popped them up on dimensionals. The pumpkin faces are individual stamps but I placed each one on my stamped pumpkins where I wanted it and picked them all up together on one clear block. Then I could stamp all three of them at once (I love photopolymer stamps for that option).

I’d wanted to use the Halloween baker’s twine to hang this banner but made my holes a bit too big so I used the Silver Metallic Ribbon instead, but I quite like it now, so I think it was a happy mistake 🙂

I was really hoping to use the new Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper on this banner, but it just wasn’t right so I had to make a different one just so I could use it 🙂

Little Paper Party, Trick or Treat banner

This banner uses some retired products because I don’t have the Layering Circles Framelits yet – wish list much bigger than budget unfortunately 😦

It’s smaller than the last one and measures just 8 1/4″ (21cm) across, each starburst is 2-3/4″ (7cm) wide.

The biggest starburst is cut from the foil spider web sheet from the Halloween Night Specialty DSP (love this paper!) and is reinforced with a Basic Black layer on the back.
The Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper starbursts are 1-7/8″ (4.8cm) wide and under them is a banner that is 1-1/2 x 2-5/8″ (4 x 6.5cm) cut from the same paper pack. (Tip: To make a 1-1/2 x 2-5/8″ banner I cut the DSP to 1-1/2 x 3″ before using the Triple Banner Punch).

It’s decorated using the same stamp set and edgelits as my previous banner but this time using Crumb Cake cardstock for vintage feel. To make the shape the Trick or Treat sentiment is on, I stamped then punched the words out using the Decorative Label Punch keeping them towards the bottom of the punch. I then re-punched the words to create this shape which gave me a perfect spot to add some rhinestones for some extra bling 🙂

If you’d like a free kit to make the first banner project just place a minimum $50.00 order (before shipping) in my online store using the September Hostess Code: 94TCGNKT and I’ll send you kits to make both the first banner and Week 1’s project in early October.

* Enter the Hostess Code for the current month
* Tick YES to allow my demonstrator to contact me (or I won’t know who you are)

I’m planning to add more free kits for each $25.00 spent for the different Halloween projects during August and September, so I hope you’ll come back for more ideas.

If you’d like your own copy of the Holiday Catalogue please contact me and I’ll post one out to you within two weeks. (Limit one per person). If you already have a demonstrator please contact them for your copy.

I hope you liked todays project and that you’ll come back to see my Christmas version on Friday.

Cheers,
Karen
