Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – In Colour Florals
A bit longer between posts than I would have liked but I’m back on track and ready to share some lovelies with you. For some reason it takes me quite a while to fit new In Colours into my colour comfort zone but this year I’m making a real effort to change that by using them in as many projects as I can before the new catalogue goes live (June 1st) and I’m completely distracted with all the other new goodies.
My card today uses three of the new colours and the masking technique, which I’ve done before but not quite to this extent so please excuse my boo boos.
The colours of the main flowers are Flirty flamingo, Peekaboo Peach and Sweet Sugarplum, it wasn’t quite what I had in mind but I only wanted to use current product which limited my choice of images. I quite like the end effect though it’s a bit quirky and the overall feeling is bright and cheerful and that’s what I was going for so I guess it’s a success!
The flowers are from Botanical Blooms and Grateful Bunch and the leaves are from Love and Affection (available June 1st). Hello is cut from black cardstock and I really like how it jumps off the card. I’ve layered the card front on black with a tiny border, an idea I completely CASED from Dena Rekow , I just love how that looks.
A strip of washi tape on the far right hides a couple of boo boos, thank you washi tape 🙂 and the little bow paperclip is just for fun!
The inside is simply finished with a few flowers and a sentiment from Love & Affection all in the new In Colours.
I hope you’ll give this a go yourself, it’s a great way to mix and match images from different sets and a pretty forgiving style. I used post it notes for my masks which meant I didn’t have to cut as many because they reposition so easily which was great because I just wanted to stamp, and I might have been a bit lazy 😉
If you’d like to order any Stampin’ Up! products please visit my online store, I’d love to be your demonstrator. I have more In Colour lovelies to share with you this week and some 3D projects as well, I hope you’ll come back to see.
Cheers,
Karen
