Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – A Little “Nut” of Thanks
Did my title have you groaning??? Sorry about that, I couldn’t help myself 😉 After my last post I was thinking of some non-food items for my favour box and thought some 3 x 3″ cards would fit perfectly into this sized box and wanted to use the quilted technique just one more time and this is what I came up with.
These cards are my version of these gorgeous ones by Mary Fish at Stampin’ Pretty. I created a background using the smallest leaf from the Vintage Leaves stamp set and picked the colourway for each card from the washi tape on the acorn. (I’ll add my measurements at the end if you’d like to try them yourself.)
I created the acorns using the quilting technique (the name I made up because I don’t know what it’s really called) and the Acorn Builder punch (item# 139681 ). A little bit of gold metallic thread and a gold glimmer paper cap popped up on a dimensional finishes them off. The sentiment is from Sprinkles of Life and is also popped up.
Some simple envelopes made with the same cardstock and the Envelope Punch Board (item# 133774) complete the set. I stamped the same leaf image at the bottom and think it would be lovely with the some of the coordinating washi tape on the reverse to keep them closed. Tip: assemble your envelope “loosely” to allow for some give to accommodate the dimension of the card
The insides are finished very simply with a white panel and that same leaf across the bottom. (I’d burnished my folds so well I had to use the washi tape to hold the cards open so I could photograph the insides, but I really like the effect now and will pretend it was on purpose 🙂
This little set easily fits inside the box, you really need a few more to fill it, I think you could just squeeze in six or maybe you’d prefer just one, with the edible thank you’s I’d mentioned earlier 😉
I do hope you liked these little sweeties and if you’d like to purchase any of the items to make them for yourself please visit my online store, I’d love to be your demonstrator. I’ve finally finished with this style (for the time being) but am still very much in Autumn mode and hope you’ll come back to see what I’ve made next time.
Cheers,
Karen
