Mother’s Day, it’s in the bag!

Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Karen Robinson – Mother’s Day, it’s in the bag!

Mother’s Day is quickly approaching and I’ve come up with some crafty ideas that I’ll be sharing over the next week or so, using one stamp set and paper stack.  Today’s idea is an oldie but a goodie, tea bag holders. These are super quick to whip up as pretty table favours for church and community groups or as a contribution to the Mother’s Day stall. It’s easy to dress them up or keep them simple depending on time and budget and I have both styles to share today.

Each holder uses a piece of  6″ x 6″ paper from the Love Blossoms (140548) designer series paper stack, (which just happens to be  6″ x 6″, so no trimming needed)  this is part of a Valentine’s themed suite, but the paper is suitable for lots of different occasions, I love versatile designs.

My dressed up version has some Blushing Bride glimmer paper (140550) and blushing bride satin ribbon from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit (140551)and both styles have White Baker’s Twine (124262) and Basics Pearls (119247) as embellishments. The sentiment is from Circle of Spring (138964), a lovely set with six different sentiments and wreath image, that you’ll be seeing lots of soon.

The holders can hold a teabag front and back, as well as two extra in the middle if you’d like. However, I like a little treat to have with my cuppa and found some wrapped biscuits in my local supermarket and could fit two packets per holder, perfect!

A quick  tutorial if you’d like to make your own, (all measurements are in inches).

Place your paper diagonally on score board at 4 1/4, score at 3 3/4 & 4 3/4.

Turn your paper 90 degrees to 4 1/4 again and score at 2 3/4 and 5 3/4.

Fold and burnish your score lines.

Punch a hole in the top and tie together using your preferred ribbon or twine, embellish as desired.

When I was making these holders I was trying to think of something different to put in them and finally came up with something that I think is rather sweet. I’ll be sharing my idea in my next post and hope you’ll come back to see.

If you would like to purchase any of the items in today’s project, please visit my store, I would love to be your demonstrator if you don’t have one.

Cheers,
Karen
